This year’s La Folle Journée Festival ended late on Sunday, 28 September! The Festival has been held in Poland since 2010, drawing an ever larger audience, proving that music which is usually associated with the rigid atmosphere of the concert hall can be served in a very attractive way.

La Folle Journée is a festival intended for audiences who have encountered classical music only a few times in their lives, or not at all. To show the widest possible spectrum of American music, the organisers have enhanced the festival programme to include jazz played by great performers of improvised music.

Highly original and diverse works created by the immigrants became a valued element of United States’ national legacy. This Year It’s America – La Folle Journée 2014
Gershwin, Bernstein, Copland, Barber, Rachmaninov, Dvořák, Joplin, Williams – these are only some of the composers whose music we will have an opportunity to hear in this year’s Polish edition of La Folle Journée. This is already the fifth time the Festival is held in Warsaw. Over three days, from 26 to 28 September, the halls of Teatr Wielki – the National Opera will reverberate with the sound of 55 concerts played by 1000 performers.
