After the Press Conference

On 16 September 2014, at noon in Teatr Wielki – the National Opera, a press conference was held to inform the public of details about the La Folle Journée Festival – “America”.

The idea of the festival, its program and performing artists were discussed by invited guests and organisers: the Festival’s Artistic Director – René Martin,  the Deputy Director of the Culture Dept. at the Warsaw City Hall –  Małgorzata Naimska, Director of the Centre for Artistic Education – Zdzisław Bujanowski, Viola Łabanow from the Music is for Everyone Foundation, the General Director of the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra – Janusz Marynowski, deputy director of the Teatr Wielki – the National Opera – Katarzyna Nowicka and Ryszard Kubiak of the Musical Gardens Foundation.

There was a surprise for the tightly packed journalists attending the conference – a short concert by soloists of the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra performing fragments of an arrangement of George Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess”!
