Robert Trevino

After completing his education under the direction of Leif Segerstam, Kurt Masur, Michael Tilson Thomas, David Felder and David Zinman and receiving an honourable mention at the Evgeni Svetlanov Conductors’ Competition in Montpellier in 2010, Robert Trevino made his debut on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre, conducting Puccini’s Tosca. After the success of that performance, Trevino was invited by the opera for two more seasons, and to work on a new production of Verdi’s Don Carlo. Since then he became a well-known artist on the international music scene. In 2009–2011 Trevino was the director of the New York City Opera in  Lincoln Center, and in the summer of 2011 James Levine nominated Trevino “Seiji Ozawa Conducting Fellow” at the Tanglewood Music Festival. For the past three seasons Trevino is the director of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He also works with such famous orchestras as the Los Angeles, Boston and Petersburg Philharmonic, the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra in South Korea and the Montpellier National Orchestra. In 2013 Robert Trevino took over the position of director of the Shippenburg Music Festival. Robert Trevino is an avid advocate of contemporary music. He has worked closely with leading thanks to the financial support of such institutions as the Foundation for Contemporary Arts or the University of Chicago.
