Akcja Labirynt
The Labyrinth Event is a comprehensive educational and artistic program which links the creative potential of children, youths, teachers and young Warsaw artists. Topics covered at the Labyrinth Event are associated with the La Folle Journée Festival.
The program is organised by the Music is for Everyone Foundation in cooperation with the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra, Mazowieckie Centre of Culture and Arts, Mazowieckie Centre for Teacher Development and is financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and by the Capital City of Warsaw.
The program’s main objective is to arouse children’s interest in arts and music in particular and to inspire them to develop their own creativity. The Labyrinth Event is also intended to activise schools to implement educational innovation in the area of music, theatre and the visual arts. We hope to inspire teachers to search for new, attractive forms of artistic education in schools.
In 2011 the Labyrinth Event received 1st Prize from the Capital City of Warsaw in a competition for non-government organisations for the most interesting cultural education project in the 2nd Edition of the Warsaw Exchange of Cultural Education Programs.
Program Components in 2013:
“Let’s Play Together!” Workshops for teachers, enthusiasts of music education in the headquarters of the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra and in the Mazowieckie Centre of Culture and Arts, held in cooperation with the Mazowieckie Centre for Teacher Development. The program of the workshops is focused on making music in ensembles.
“Bonjour y Buenos dias!” Artistic workshops for elementary school students in the headquarters of the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra, covering the creation of sound, musical instruments, expression of movement, pantomime and theatre inspired by the music of France and Spain.
“One Minute Class Song” Competition for students of elementary schools and junior high schools. Students are given the task of composing and recording short songs and music video-clips, the best of which will receive prizes and compete for the Audience Prize on the website: www.akcjalabirynt.pl and on the YouTube profile: http://www.youtube.com/FundacjaMuzykaJest.
Flying School of Rock – a promotion and artistic activity for junior high school students. Together with renowned musicians, the Foundation encourages youths to play in ensembles, thus establishing a musical incubator in one of the schools in the district of Praga Południe. The program entails playing instruments in ensembles, enhanced with individual lessons adjusted to the needs of the participants in the project. The final activity is a concert performed by project participants together with professional musicians.
